Glazing

Single Glass and Quality IG Double Glazing Producers

Our glass options are endless in both single and double glass and far too many to show, so if you have a particular requirement, we can service your needs. We do not manufacture double glazed units ourselves as this is a specialized job and to do it properly, takes a large investment of money. Two companies that have made that investment are Thai-German and AVG Glass, two of Thailand’s leading producers when it comes to IG double glazed units and come with a full replacement guarantee for 10 years. There are cheap Chinese machine lines that can produce double glazed units, but unit breakdowns are all too often.

Types Of Glass

float glass

Standard Float Single Tinted Glass

Tinted glass comes as standard with your windows and doors, for 50% of our customers this works just fine for them. Tints are available in green, dark grey and blue, we can also install clear glass or you can upgrade to Ultra clear.
Unlike the laws we have in the west that state, all glass installed under a certain height, must be safety glass. The law is not the same here in Thailand so we have adopted the old UK standard used for glass doors at a thickness not less than 6mm, throughout your project when its single glazes. We feel it necessary to point out the dangers of standard glass, especially if you have young children visiting or staying at the property.

Reflective Glass

Reflective glass provides privacy and protection against the sun’s UV rays. Acting in the same way a mirror does, it deflects the suns rays away from the window or door, which in turn, helps to reduce the temperature of your home and also stops your soft furnishings from being discoloured. Please remember that the privacy element this glass offers only works when it’s brighter outside than it is inside, you don’t want to shock your neighbours, moon gazing.

Reduce energy costs and noise with double glazing

With 60% of heat loss or gain coming by way of your windows and doors, it’s easy to see why double glazing can pay for itself over time. It cost much less to warm up a property than it does to cool a property down and with electric bill ever increasing, double glazing with good quality upvc windows and doors, make perfect sense. We can advise you on the types of glass when configuring your IGU units, to achieve the best results for cheaper monthly energy bills.
The other big advantage is the reduction of outside noise, the noise reduction is a real welcome to those suffering barking dogs, loud bars, motorbikes or noisy neighbours, double glazing is the answer.

tempered

Tempered Glass

Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal treatments to increase its strength over and above its original float Glass strength. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards (aka: annealed glass). The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
Some people prefer this glass over laminated glass because of its strength, a common rule of thumb to gauge the strength of this type of glass, is to multiply the glass thickness by 3x so a typical 6mm glass has the equivalent strength of a piece of glass 18mm thick, which takes some braking and repeatedly hitting the glass becomes very noisy for someone wanting to smash and grab.

Laminated Safety Glass

Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic “spider web” cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass.

Most commonly used in motor vehicles and secured buildings, Laminated Glass is the number 1 choice for those concerned with safety or security. It is also available in a variety of colours and thicknesses.
